The HQ/W Airfoil is the latest in a series of F3B optimized airfoils designed by Dr. Helmut Quabeck. The airfoil is based on the
impressive HQ/W - 2/7.5 profile. Dr. Quabeck personally optimized the airfoil and wing planform of the Ellipse 4 to achieve winning F3B performance for World Competitions. The Carbon D-Box wing is constructed using multi-layer biased Carbon Fiber cloth bonded to a Carbon main spar that runs the entire length of each wing panel. Carbon Cloth bonded to a composite sub spar just forward of the control surfaces. This superior design is not only super strong, but places the wing mass forward of the center of lift, helping to prevent wing "Flutter" at high speeds. Look to the Ellipse 4 wing for High strength , Low weight and incredible Torsional ridgidity Multi -Section Ailerons are used to create a continuous control surface all the way to the wing tip. Each wing combines a large and a small bottom hinged control surface to form the complete Aileron.The segments are mechanically connected and carefully engineered so even at full deflection only the smallest gap (<1mm) is created between the segments. Additionally, both the Flap and the Aileron use top control horns for the best mechanical advantage. Even the servo covers have been engineered to conceal the control linkage. Excellent performance in Duration, Distance, and Speed allow the Ellipse 4 to stand out as a testament to the unequaled dedication of Mr. Jaroslav Muller to the Sport of F3B competition flying. No other producer can currently equal the combined finish quality, strength or flight performance of the Ellipse 4.
